It's all about shavers

Women who want to look good and be well groomed have to look at each and every aspect of grooming. Starting from their hair to their feet, they have to really maintain themselves. One aspect that really creates a lot of problem is the body hair. Body hair can make you look really untidy and lousy! A lot of women have unwanted hair they want to get rid off, either by permanent hair removal system like Home Laser Hair Removal or by a temporary hair removal system. Hair removal is a method of removing hair from the human body. This body hair can exists on legs, arms, underarms, face or on the bikini line. Women will definitely consider one or the other form of hair removal to get rid of body hair.

Let us look at some of these hair removal techniques. There are basically 2 types of hair removing procedures and they are:

Depilation: A hair removing procedure of removing hair from above the surface of the skin is known as Depilation (see info about depilatories). Shaving is the most common form. Epilation: Another hair removing procedure of removing the entire hair of the body right from the roots below the skin is known as Epilation. Waxing is the commonly used method.

Some of the parts of the body where hair is most noticeable and that are most commonly waxed, trimmed, plucked, or shaved are the abdomen, armpits, hands, back, chest, eyebrows, legs, face.

Depilation and Epilation include the following techniques:

Shaving, this can be done manually or with electric shavers. Before starting on the procedure of shaving, it is quite necessary to exfoliate the skin and open pores first. This can be done by wetting the body with water and then using a body scrub. After scrubbing, you should apply a good shaving gel or cream to the skin before you finally start to shave. Creams or “shaving powders”, which dissolve hair chemically. These are body hair removal creams that need to be applied to the body and kept for certain minutes before removing. Care must be taken that they are not kept on the skin more than the required time. Plucking, where hairs are plucked with tweezers or with fingers. This method is generally used on the face, to groom the eyebrows and upper lips. It is basically used to do away with minor stray hair. Threading, here the hair is plucked with the help of a thread. This method too, is most commonly used for facial hair. Waxing, in which the hair is pulled out by applying a hot or cold layer of wax on the skin and then removed with strips placed on this area. This is one of the most popular methods of hair removal. The hair reappears after a long time when the skin is waxed. Waxing removes the hair from its roots and also helps in making the skin smooth. Over a period of time, it has been noticed that the hair growth becomes lesser and the hair that appears on the skin is much finer. Use of mechanical devices that rapidly grasp hairs and pull them out from the roots. A permanent hair removal method such as Electrolysis hair removal, Laser and Intense Pulsed Light. It is important to note that the permanent hair removal methods do have some disadvantages. Apart from their high cost, they can give rise to certain skin and medical problems. Therefore, it is imperative to do a thorough research about the methods before you start on the procedure.

Even you can opt for some of the natural hair removing methods from home only, this is known as home hair removal. It is very easy and has no side effects. The following are some of the ways in which you can do home hair removal:

Bleaching hair with lemon juice and chamomile tea. Combining honey, lemon and sugar you can create a mixture. It is used in a similar way to waxing. It pulls the hair from the roots. Pumice stone which is a rough stone can be used to remove hair by causing friction in the skin. You can use those hair removal products that use only natural ingredients.

Ingrown hair removal is a procedure used by many women these days. This is because ingrown hair can be uncomfortable and cause a feeling of constant tenderness, itching or tingling. There are various clinics which offer this treatment of ingrown hair removal. There are many reasons which causes this ingrown hair problem and they are:

When skin suffers from lack of moisture. Presence of excess oil around the hair follicles. Dense curly hair growing in a curved hair follicle is another reason. Even Improper shaving technique with a blade can also be a reason.

So take your pick and use the hair removal procedure that you feel most comfortable with!

Removing unwanted hair from certain parts of your body is a matter that is troubling not only for women but for men as well. Fortunately, there are effective body hair removal products available on the market today.

These body hair removal products come with different degrees of efficiency.  And while there is a wide selection of hair removal products, it is difficult to tell which product is right for you.

When choosing a body hair remover product, it is important to consider the color and thickness of your hair. Some body hair remover products needs consistency before you can attain the result you are looking for. Here are among the body hair removal products you can choose from.

Tweezers are the most economical body hair remover you can get. These are metal forceps that is used to pull out the hair manually. It is important to make sure to clean the tweezers before you use to prevent infection caused by dirty tweezers.  Pull one hair at a time to prevent redness and swelling.

Epilators is a rechargeable body hair removal that removes delicate areas of unwanted hair and gives a silky and smooth finish for up to 6 weeks.  The hair shaft should be  ¼ inch for the epilator to grab and pull it. Avoid using lotion or cream before using the epilator application because this will make the hair shaft slick and will deter from pulling it.

Wax and sugaring gel are two of the most common body hair removal products being used by salons and spas. You can also buy waxing and sugar kits over the counter and can perform hair removal using these products at home. Using of both have a certain degree of difficulty and might not be the most favorable choice for some people. Waxing can cause skin irritation and skin burn and hair break-off when done repeatedly and incorrectly.

Depilatory Products, which comes in gel form, mousse, cream, are chemical based products that dissolve hair on the skin’s surface. Depilatories are made up of harsh chemicals used in cleaning products. Thus, if you have a sensitive skin this might not be the right choice for you.

Electrical shavers are among the most inexpensive and time-saving choices. It is a device used to remove tapered tip of hair shaft. This, however, can make the hair thick when it re-grows.

Hair growth inhibiting products acts on the hair follicle, making it weaker and in the long run lead to zero hair growth.  These are not best for coarse hair as this type of hair is hard to treat and might take a long time. These products are generally is safer but need repetitive treatment. Among these body hair removal products, hair growth inhibiting products are often the most expensive.

Most of these products are not lasting or permanent. Some can even cause skin irritation and medical problems, and permanent damage if not used properly. Others are also very expensive. And while some of these methods are still in the testing phase and are not yet clinically proven, it is important to ask guidance from a doctor-supervised facility first before choosing to use especially chemical based body hair removal products.

One of the oldest methods of body hair removal is threading and it is commonly practiced in eastern countries such as India and Egypt. It is gaining popularity in the Western cosmetology. Threading involves the removal of the entire hair follicle which can last up to 6 weeks. A twisted cotton thread is rolled over the hairlines by a practitioner to remove the unwanted hair. The practitioner pulled the cotton thread in a twisting motion and trapped the hair in a loop so that it can be plucked easily from the skin. This is a difficult method and if it is not done correctly, the hair can break and re-growth quickly. Threading is generally performed on the face.

Hair removal is described as removal of hair by various methods, mostly from the human body. There are many reasons for removing hair from the body which includes medical, social, cultural or sexual reasons. Many people feel embarrassed in many situations if they have excess body hair, for example if they are in the pool or woman wearing sleeveless dress or shirts.  Therefore, body hair removal is getting common in today’s society.

People usually remove body hair from the noticeable area such as the armpits, face, back, chest, legs, eyebrows, head and abdomen. There are various methods available to get rid of the unwanted hair such as depilation and epilation. These are the temporary method for body hair removal.

Depilation removes the hair above the skin’s surface which lasts several hours to several days. The most common depilation method is shaving or trimming. Shaving removes the hair by using razors and electric shavers. Men usually use this method to remove their facial hairs. There are variety of shaving tools to be used such as multi blade razors, disposable razors, electric razors and electric trimmers. Moisturizer should be applied to the skin for example shaving cream or body wash before shaving because it helps the razor glide over skin and not cutting it. However, there is a limitation on this method because you only can shave the areas that are easy to reach for example, legs, face and armpits but not your own back.

Epilation is removal of the entire hair from the root which last several days to several weeks which includes plucking, waxing, sugaring, threading and epilators. Plucking means hairs are plucked or pulled out with tweezers or fingers. Plucking is inexpensive but can be very time consuming because you can only remove one hair at a time. Besides, the hair shaft must be long enough to grasp with tweezers. Plucking can be painful and a person may get an ingrown hair if the hair breaks off below the skin. The tweezers should be sterilized with alcohol before or after use to reduce the chance of getting infection.

Epilators are mechanical devices to remove unwanted hair from the root. The epilators are handy electrical devices which can be battery operated or connected to the mains. Its functions are gripping and pulling the several hairs out from the skin at a time with a tweezing action of a rotating head. Epilators can be used on the different areas of the body which includes the underarms, legs, arms, back, chests and bikini line. There are various types of epilators available in the market to suit hair removal from different body parts. Epilators is a temporary effective method for body hair removal because it is very easy, convenient, affordable to use and hairless skin can lasts for 3-4 weeks. Besides, epilators can remove very short and fine hair as compare to other body hair removal methods.

Waxing is done by spreading a wax combination thinly over the skin in the direction of hair growth. A cloth or paper strip is then applied over the wax and quickly ripped off against the direction of the hair growth. This removes the wax along with the hair roots and dead skin cells. The wax can be applied warm or cold. Caution must be exercised when heating wax so as not to burn the skin. Waxing is an effective and long lasting method to remove a large amount of hair at one time. The hair in waxed area will not grow back in 2 to 8 weeks. However, waxing can be very costly because it is usually performed by a licensed cosmetologist. Besides, waxing can be painful and discomfort when the strip is pulled off from the skin. After waxing, some people may notice red bumps, inflammation, ingrown hairs or minor bleeding. Waxing can also be done at home and less costly. But, the do- it- yourself waxing supplies may be difficult to use on oneself on some areas of the body and may cause hair growth more noticeable if waxing is not done properly. People with skin irritation from sunburn or skin areas affected by moles, pimples and warts should avoid waxing.

Sugar waxing also can be used to remove unwanted body hair as an alternative to regular waxing because it is more cheaper and easier to do. It is actually a body hair removal method use in ancient Eqypt and sometimes it is called the Persian wax. It can be easily done at home by spreading a thick sugary substance on the skin in the direction of hair growth. A strip of paper or cloth is pressed onto the sugar wax and then pulled off quickly against the direction of the hair growth, thus pulling the hairs out of the follicles. The sugar substance is easily removed by rinsing with water because it is water soluble.
